About Napoleon Livestock Commission Co

Who We Are

Rooted in community values, built on trusted partnerships.

Connecting buyers and sellers within the local community has always been at the heart of what we do. From our early days to today, our focus remains on providing clear, transparent evaluations and reliable marketing infrastructure so that our lifelong local producers always feel right at home when they walk through our doors.

The Foundations

Our journey began with a simple mission: to provide an honest, competitive market where local producers could bring their hard work. Guided by integrity and fair evaluation, this baseline set a lasting standard for trusted service that carried us through the decades.

Our Ongoing Commitment

Those traditional core values continue to guide daily operations. By keeping our physical yard clean, orderly, and updated—from our pens and sales arena to our trailers, gates, and chutes—we ensure loading and unloading remains a smooth process. Combined with fast weekly market sheets and accurate state tagging workflows per hundredweight, our goal remains to ensure local operations are fully supported every step of the way.

Meet the Owners

Running for over 70 years, Napoleon Livestock Commission Company has been owned and operated by the Heselschwerdt family since 1956, making it the oldest family-owned livestock auction in the state of Michigan. Owners, Dale, Randy, and Rick Heselschwerdt, have spent their lives working for the farmer, doing what they can to get top dollar selling livestock through the auction method. Together they have over 150 years of experience in livestock marketing. They take great pride in assisting you in your agricultural needs.

Our operation is family-owned and hands-on. We take immense pride in working alongside our clients on sale days and ensuring our community remains supported at every turn.
